Exorcist TV Series Wants To Spin Your Head

April 20, 2016 By Horror Palace Leave a Comment

Ready to get creeped out from your own living room? Fox is making a pilot inspired by the famous book by William Peter Blatty known as “The Exorcist.”

You might be thinking, “but I’ve already seen the movie and read the book,” Fox is promising a brand new take on the story and since it’s a series, you can count on it being inspired by the book, but not an exact duplication.

Even though right now the show isn’t officially a series order, just a pilot, the probability for it being picked-up is there. The exorcist movie is considered to be one of the scariest movies of all time, so the there is potential for a successful modern-day interpretation of some awesomely horrific material.

The the right people are in place to make it happen.  Rise of the Planet of the Apes director, Rupert Wyatt is bringing his vision for a psychological thriller to life on the small screen. Geena Davis, the female lead from Beetlejuice will be playing the character known as “Angela” in the possible Fox series. Angela is a woman fighting to stay strong in her faith while her family life is in turmoil. She has horrific recurring dreams about a demon, leading her to believe it’s a sign of what’s wrong. Ben Daniels, who portrayed Adam Galloway for two seasons on Netflix’s award-winning series House of Cards will be playing the role of Father Marcus, a religious leader hell-bent on performing exorcisms even without the support of his church.

Since it’s still in the begining stages, horror fans will have to bite their nails in anticipation of the pilot convincing fox executives to order a full series, but things are looking up…or maybe sinister is the better word!
