The Divine Tragedies

September 16, 2014 By Horror Palace Leave a Comment

“A Serial Killer Fever Dream”

Los Angeles, California – Producers Jon and James Kondelik are pleased to debut the trailer for the horror feature The Divine Tragedies. The-Divine-Tragedies-Official-Artwork-smThe trailer shows the brothers: Charles and Thomas LoBianco, on a terrible killing spree. Beautifully shot in bright colours, the trailer shows more of the film’s characters and the brother’s terrible motivations – to get away with murder!

The Divine Tragedies is based on a brutal crime. The Leopold and Loeb murder case, of Chicago, would shock the world. Two brothers thought they could commit the perfect crime, the murder of a young boy. But, the authorities were hot on their trail. In the film’s story, actor Ken Foree plays Det. Homer Gaul. Gaul is intent on ending the brothers’ wanton killing; he just has to find them first. But, Charles and Thomas have plans of their own.

The trailer was shot by director Jose Prendes (The Haunting of Whaley House). Prendes has been influenced by films of the past including David Cronenberg’s Videodrome (1983). Cronenberg’s strong visual style is shown here in the many surreal images. The Divine Tragedies is one part dreamscape, blended with a horrifying reality. Prendes says of the shoot and his shooting style: “I know people always say that, but I really think the film will back me up. It’s American Psycho meets Videodrome.” Prendes’ influences can be seen by viewers, in the horrifying trailer for The Divine Tragedies.

“Sleepwalkers” Wrapping up Post Production (Trailer)

September 16, 2014 By Horror Palace Leave a Comment

Sleepwalkers – A film by Ryan Lightbourn

Sleepwalkers-2014

Miami, Florida – First time feature film director Ryan Lightbourn is showing more of his vicious creature feature Sleepwalkers. The second trailer for the film has been shot in the Floridian bayous and swamps. These settings helped create the trailer’s dark tone.

Having cut his teeth with music videos for the likes of Big Sean, Slum Village, and Travis Porter, Lightbourn exploded onto the scene with his original short, “Roid Rage” – a grindhouse style indie flick. Lightbourn wrote, shot, directed, edited and scored the film, himself. “Roid Rage” screened at over 40 film festivals, earning spots at Screamfest LA, Sacramento Horror Film Festival, and Rue Morgue/Unstable Ground’s “Little Terrors” series among others. The short film’s trailer generated over 3 million views on YouTube. After surprising many in the industry with his one-man-crew achievement on “Roid Rage,” Lightbourn confounds expectations further with Sleepwalkers. Lightbourn continues to set new, higher standards for the micro-budget feature world.

This title is currently wrapping up post-production. As well, Sleepwalkers is only a few short months away from completion and this title has been submitted to a number of film festivals. An official release date will follow shortly.

Sleepwalkers tells the story of five college students as they attempt to enjoy a festive spring break getaway, only to encounter a deadly, nocturnal presence. As horrific events unfold, the group joins forces with a local convenience store owner and a prison escapee. Nighttime approaches and they must set aside their differences and use their wits to survive.

Director/writer: Ryan Lightbourn
Producers: Aviva Christie, Tim Story, Jesse Fox, Ryan Lightbourn
Cast: Ansley Gordon, Amanda Phillips, Tommy Goodman, Ben Owen, Ben Evans.

Halloween Poem – Happy Halloween from Horror Palace

September 2, 2014 By Horror Palace Leave a Comment

Happy Halloween

By Ivan Karhoff

Ghosts of Horror Palace past parade,
Emerging from mist and shade
Hidden from the gaze,
With song and ringing mirth,
A moment of rebirth,
Again they walk upon the earth
As in the ancient days.

Horror Palace dominates the hill,
The will-o’-wisps the forests fill
With flashes filched from noon;
Witches fly on broomsticks spry
Throughout the nighttime sky,
Lifting strident voices high
Unto the Horror Palace Moon.

Sounds of tuneful notes
From myriads of straining throats,
Nothing is what it seems
So join the swelling choral throng,
Forget your sorrow and your wrong,
from Horror Palace all night long
a Happy Halloween

HALLOWEEN MUSIC

Halloween Party Music Fun - Album Cover

HALLOWEEN PARTY MUSIC FUN

HorrorPalace.com is home to quite a number of excellent terror themed CD’s. For those wishing to add something a bit more whimsical to their collection, ”Halloween Party Music Fun” might be the best collection of old time Halloween tunes ever compiled. There are 11 excellent tracks on this collection making them perfect for Halloween parties or even just driving in your car during the All Hallow’s Eve season.

Some of the all-time favorite Halloween songs are present on this disk.

Boris Pickett may not have realized it at the time, but his song Monster Mash would go on to become THE Halloween anthem. The song was written at a time when the old discarded horror films of the 1930s and 1940s were being released to syndicated television. The films spawned the a revival in horror movies kids at the time loved. The novelty song by Pickett gave kids a theme to rally around. Long after the initial fad ended, this funny and quirky song would remain a perennial Halloween favorite playing on radio all throughout the world. Now, you can have it as part of this great collection and play it whenever you wish. Even well past the Halloween season.

The presence of The Addams Family theme is a real joy. The television program airs on the Boomerang network during Halloween reaching new audiences who may have missed during its original broadcast and syndicated run. The theme to the television show is timeless and universal and its presence on this CD is a very nice inclusion. The creepily humorous tone of the theme evokes laughs amidst an eerie backdrop.

Flying Purple People Eater was never intended to be a Halloween themed song. It seemed be released originally to capitalize on the popularity of both novelty albums and giant science-fiction monster moves at the time. The song had a fun charm to it and it ended up gaining eternal fame on oldies channels on the radio.

”Halloween Party Music Fun” is definitely a great compilation album/CD for those wishing to buy a solid collection of Halloween songs. Each and every October 31st can now have the perfect music to listen to.

Scary Sounds of Horror - Album Cover

SCARY SOUNDS OF HORROR

HorrorPalace.com is one of the very best resources for those looking for quality Halloween and horror movie inspired CDs. For those looking for cool sound effects, the new release of ”Scary Sounds of Horror” might be one of the best of the best recording to purchase. No matter what type of haunting environment you wish to create, this CD has all the audio you would want to accompany it.

There are 34 different tracks on the CD and, in addition to being garish, these tracks are….generous. 34 unique sound effects reflect an outright PACKED release.

There are quite a number of traditional spooky sound staples on the release. Among them include eerie blowing wind, frightening ghostly howls, and an ominous evil laugh. All the old classic horror films made use of sounds like these for a very good reason: they evoke a sense of fear.

For the modern horror fan, a more visceral approach is sought in horror sound effects. This release delivers. Gruesome tracks such as chainsawing and a lady offering a horror scream definitely has the potential to be very unnerving.

Probably the most interesting inclusion here would be all the Godzilla inspired sounds. Yes, the legendary Toho Studios radioactive dinosaur is included on this compilation. Why should he not be? Japanese giant monsters have been a Halloween staple on TV for decades. On this disk, there are several tracks heralding the arrival of the 400 foot behemoth to your Halloween party.

Actually, all the sound effects are perfect for Halloween parties. They are also fine inclusions for theatrical productions, promotional events, and even dark mediations. No matter what the environment or the occasion may be, it you want spooky sounds, this is the collection to get.

”Scary Sounds of Horror” is the quintessential sound effects album. It might even be the only one you will ever need.

HALLOWEEN HORROR – The Crypt Ghouls

Halloween Horror- Album CoverHorrorPalace.com once again delivers the best scary Halloween music fans of All Hallow’s Eve can enjoy in the darkness of their dwelling. For sheer terror inspired strangeness, the new CD release ”Halloween Horror” by The Crypt Ghouls is out there….really, really out there. Those who love haunting, and outright unnerving scary Halloween music will find the tracks on this disk to be what they have been looking for.

The top track ‘Sounds from the Crypt‘ starts out with the feel of an old 1970s style horror mansion attraction. The opening sounds create the feeling someone is watching you. Slowly, the music builds up to greater tension and it becomes ominous backdrop music. For those who want a very ominous theme for their next Halloween party should seriously consider playing this track in the background. Honestly, this track would be perfect on the score of any serious horror movie. The slight Tangerine Dream styled chords further make this a creepy arrangement.

Zombies Escape is a homage to the novelty albums of previous generations. The common sounds and screams of an attack by the undead and cackling witches and malevolent entities n the background contribute to its flair. Even a werewolf howl finds its way on this track. Phantom of the Opera inspired organ music is also included here making this the perfect background music for a haunted house attraction or, simply, a Halloween party. Are you thinking about having a séance at your next October 31st get together? Why not play this track to create the seasonal ambiance?

Dead Spirit Dance builds very slowly. It is one of those themes you do not know is there until its tempo and tone eerily creep up on you. Horror is best when it builds in a subtle manner. This is not lost on the artists here as they get such an approach down perfectly with this track.

The tracks on this release may not necessarily be ones you will walk around with on your MP3 player. (Then again, quite of number of you just might do that) For those wishing to put the ominous music to work for them, the tracks are perfect for parties, haunted house attractions, lobby music to a horror movie festival or convention, and the like. The selections can be perfect inclusions to any horror themed event. Maybe you can play at a horror story public reading. The music could be great for your own personal dark meditation sessions.

No matter what you originally buy the music for, ”Halloween Horror” by The Crypt Ghouls will end up being a CD you never forget to break out each and every Halloween.

She Only Wants Your Blood

September 1, 2014 By Horror Palace Leave a Comment

She-Only-Wants-Your-Blood

A cross breed between a witch and a vampire, she is as dangerous as they come. Her sorcery is only matched by her ability to deprive humans from their sanity and blood. Hunched over and arms extended, she works her magic, toying with her victims. She has all the time in the world and she knows how to get what she wants.

She will start by mentally breaking you down and dragging you into the nightmare behind her. Over the years she has become bored with killing her prey quickly, so instead she tortures. Relentless flashes of demons coming to collect your soul, while she slowly devours one vein at a time, will feel like an eternity.

Paralyzed and delusional with fear, her victims accept their last moments without screaming or fighting. Memories and flashbacks are replaced by vivid torment and emotion loses its place to indescribable pain. In this scenario she finds pleasure and purpose.
