New Tim Reed Horror Book: Spider From The Well

July 24, 2014 By Horror Palace Leave a Comment

tim-reed-smAuthor Tim Reed has been published several times in the short story and novella field, in both the US and UK, spreading his net on the fantasy, weird tale and horror genres.  His latest work is Spider From The Well ( reviewed by Horror Palace) which takes a man and his wife who are on holiday in New Forest to a place they never expected to go.

After discovering a tattered diary and reading it, they become drawn into a tale of a bereaving man from Coverspider-from-the-wellthe 19th Century, who has visions of a green sun and creatures clambering from the well outside his house. Slowly, as madness takes him, these cosmic visions intensify and he finds himself under siege; his daughter, pet cat and his independence are under dire threat, leaving him alone, afraid, and at the mercy of horrific, otherworldly invaders. He witnesses alternate histories of the world, grim futures, and at the end of all, a dreadful predator patiently broods – hoping to sate its hunger. What fate awaits the Victorian man?

Will the diary reveal secrets best left in dust? And what is the ultimate purpose of the green sun, looming over the Earth like an emerald?

Reed he has a love of well-written fantasy and supernatural fiction – both old and modern – and cites Algernon Blackwood and H P Lovecraft as his primary literary inspirations.  He professes himself an Author of Speculative Fiction.

“GILGAMESH” in Post Production

June 19, 2014 By Horror Palace Leave a Comment

Gilgamesh-posterNew England-based auteur Richard Chandler announced the completion of the rough cut of his upcoming dystopian horror movie: Gilgamesh.  The movie is a unique hybrid of horror, science fiction, drama, erotica, & political thriller.

Produced, written, directed, edited, and starring Chandler himself, GILGAMESH is a mixed genre movie that contains an unusual hybrid of Sci-Fi, fantasy, horror, exploitation, and political thriller. It stars Joe Gannascoli (“Vito” from THE SOPRANOS) and cult horror sensation Melantha Blackthorne (the title character in the TV show COUNTESS BATHORIA’S GRAVEYARD PICTURE SHOW).

Also starring in the movie are Josh Davis, Emily Coleman, Oselito Joseph, Jon Pierce, Ray Hryb, Emilie Faith Lewis, Carver Riot, Peter Morse, Giancarlo Madonnini, Joe Victor, James Baker, Matt Colicci, Lilith Astaroth, Sarah Michelle, and dozens more.

Told in flashback-style, US Senator Higgins (Gannascoli) interrogates imprisoned archeologist David Murphy (Davis) in order to learn how Murphy and his wife Kristen (Blackthorne) were involved in an expedition that may have accidentally freed from her ancient prison Inanna (Coleman), the Sumerian goddess of lust and war.

While Inanna plots to destroy earth using a giant meteor to collide into the planet, the American President (Morse) and his military men (Pierce, Madonnini, and Victor) hope to utilize Inanna as a weapon of mass destruction. However a violent communist take-over of the US government, led by Special Agent Lars (Chandler) and his ally Angela Kozlov (Riot), complicates the government’s goal to exploit Inanna. As chaos ensues, the ancient god Gilgamesh (Joseph) ponders whether or not he will act as mankind’s last best hope to save humanity from its rendezvous with annihilation.

A release date is not definite but estimated to by late 2014 or early 2015.

Sequel to “The Hand That Feeds” Due August

June 18, 2014 By Horror Palace Leave a Comment

M-Garza

The Last Infection, the sequel to author Michael W. Garza’s The Hand That Feeds, will be released August 2014 by Severed Press.

The Last Infection chronicles the fall of civilization and the rise of the dead and the evolution of the infected. The series began with one little boy in The Hand That Feeds and ultimately follows the remains of the human race as they struggle for survival in a hostile world they no longer control. Come join what’s left of the living as they fight for every last breath.

The infection swept across the country like a tidal wave. Survivors cling to life as the infected own the night and the dead walk the streets. Chris has endured on his own and bumping into Jake and Alicen weren’t in his plans. The young brother and sister have plans of their own, but Chris has heard too many promises of sanctuary and infection free zones. Jenn’s arrival turns his attention to the one thing he never thought he would face again, hope. They make a pact to reach the kids safe haven, but only time will tell if anyone can survive the last infection.
