Shown in this trailer is Alig with her ever-present syringe. Oberst, Morgan Brown and a mysterious dishevelled man (held captive in an austere room) are also shown.

Release Date: TBA.
Director: Les Mahoney.
Cast: Bill Oberst Jr., Rachel Alig, Laura Lee and Nissa Von Reiter

The Divine Tragedies

September 16, 2014 By Horror Palace Leave a Comment

“A Serial Killer Fever Dream”

Los Angeles, California – Producers Jon and James Kondelik are pleased to debut the trailer for the horror feature The Divine Tragedies. The-Divine-Tragedies-Official-Artwork-smThe trailer shows the brothers: Charles and Thomas LoBianco, on a terrible killing spree. Beautifully shot in bright colours, the trailer shows more of the film’s characters and the brother’s terrible motivations – to get away with murder!

The Divine Tragedies is based on a brutal crime. The Leopold and Loeb murder case, of Chicago, would shock the world. Two brothers thought they could commit the perfect crime, the murder of a young boy. But, the authorities were hot on their trail. In the film’s story, actor Ken Foree plays Det. Homer Gaul. Gaul is intent on ending the brothers’ wanton killing; he just has to find them first. But, Charles and Thomas have plans of their own.

The trailer was shot by director Jose Prendes (The Haunting of Whaley House). Prendes has been influenced by films of the past including David Cronenberg’s Videodrome (1983). Cronenberg’s strong visual style is shown here in the many surreal images. The Divine Tragedies is one part dreamscape, blended with a horrifying reality. Prendes says of the shoot and his shooting style: “I know people always say that, but I really think the film will back me up. It’s American Psycho meets Videodrome.” Prendes’ influences can be seen by viewers, in the horrifying trailer for The Divine Tragedies.

Director: Jose Prendes
Producers: Jon and James Kondelik
Cast: Lynn Lowry, Ken Foree, Sean Whalen, Graham Denman and Jon Kondelik

“Sleepwalkers” Wrapping up Post Production (Trailer)

September 16, 2014 By Horror Palace Leave a Comment

Sleepwalkers – A film by Ryan Lightbourn

Sleepwalkers-2014

Miami, Florida – First time feature film director Ryan Lightbourn is showing more of his vicious creature feature Sleepwalkers. The second trailer for the film has been shot in the Floridian bayous and swamps. These settings helped create the trailer’s dark tone.

Having cut his teeth with music videos for the likes of Big Sean, Slum Village, and Travis Porter, Lightbourn exploded onto the scene with his original short, “Roid Rage” – a grindhouse style indie flick. Lightbourn wrote, shot, directed, edited and scored the film, himself. “Roid Rage” screened at over 40 film festivals, earning spots at Screamfest LA, Sacramento Horror Film Festival, and Rue Morgue/Unstable Ground’s “Little Terrors” series among others. The short film’s trailer generated over 3 million views on YouTube. After surprising many in the industry with his one-man-crew achievement on “Roid Rage,” Lightbourn confounds expectations further with Sleepwalkers. Lightbourn continues to set new, higher standards for the micro-budget feature world.

This title is currently wrapping up post-production. As well, Sleepwalkers is only a few short months away from completion and this title has been submitted to a number of film festivals. An official release date will follow shortly.

Sleepwalkers tells the story of five college students as they attempt to enjoy a festive spring break getaway, only to encounter a deadly, nocturnal presence. As horrific events unfold, the group joins forces with a local convenience store owner and a prison escapee. Nighttime approaches and they must set aside their differences and use their wits to survive.

Director/writer: Ryan Lightbourn
Producers: Aviva Christie, Tim Story, Jesse Fox, Ryan Lightbourn
Cast: Ansley Gordon, Amanda Phillips, Tommy Goodman, Ben Owen, Ben Evans.

Treehouse Trailer

July 28, 2014 By Horror Palace Leave a Comment

Director Michael Bartlett is proud to release the teaser trailer for the suspense thriller Treehouse. This exciting tale, set in the backwoods of Missouri, has opened for international sales this week at the most prestigious film festival in the world, Cannes. Here, the film will screen for buyers. But, editors and journalists can preview the film’s future release, right here!

Bartlett’s film has been adapted to screen from writers Alex Child and Miles Harrington’s original script. The film begins when Elizabeth (Dana Melanie) arrives home from school to witness the abduction of her younger brother. She gives chase and is not seen again. Soon, news breaks to the local community, coinciding with sightings of strange humanoids and animal abductions and mutilations. The town descends into paranoia and a curfew is enforced.  Brothers Killian (J. Michael Trautmann) and Crawford (Daniel Fredrick) stumble upon Elizabeth by chance when sneaking out to party with some local girls and that is when all proverbial hell breaks loose! A confrontation looms between these youths and their hunters.

Treehouse is described by Bartlett as a “siege film…in the same vein as John Carpenter’s Assault on Precinct 13 (1976).” The refuge in the film is an elaborate treehouse, set fifty feet in the forest’s canopy. This set was developed with folding partitions, which allowed cameras to film the action, from multiple angles and levels. As well, Bartlett says of the film: “suspense is built and fear is amplified by what is not seen, or only alluded to.” Viewers of the trailer can gather clues as to the film’s true villain. The rest is left up to your imagination.  Finally, Bartlett hired his crew from the The Signal (2007) and Winter’s Bone (2010) productions, to realize his vision.

Synopsis: The story for Treehouse focuses on missing teenagers and unknown shadows in the local Missouri woods. A brother and sister are kidnapped and two brothers find one of the victims, Elizabeth. Elizabeth is alone and afraid, in an isolated fort; several shadows lurk below. All three classmates will have to face an unimaginable evil, if they are to survive the night.

Release Date: TBA.

Director: Michael Bartlett.

Writers: Alex Child and Miles Harrington.

Cast: J. Michael Trautmann, Dana Melanie and Clint James.
