Horror Film Lets You Become a Distributor

February 11, 2015 By Horror Palace Leave a Comment

Rage: Midsummer’s Eve, set in the Arctic Circle will have its premiere on March 6th, 2015. Before that the film’s producers will let everyone join them and become an Independent Distributor for the film. The possibility to become a distributor will take effect in May 2015. The aim is to make the film available worldwide for as many viewers as possible.

La Brea Pictures LLC is announcing a large CrowdFunding campaign in order to offer the possibility to become Independent Distributors. Everyone participating in the campaign will get full access to all the available marketing materials, in order to promote the film: This will include digital posters, production stills, trailer material, promotional interviews and a specially written marketing memo which includes tips and instructions on how to reach as many viewers as possible by using social medias, and the Independent Distributors’ own contact networks to promote the film.

Distributing the actual film is very easy: The registered Independent Distributors will have a chance to post or embed a video link of the film just like they would do when posting a YouTube video link onto a website, blog or for example on a Facebook wall. Every time someone chooses to watch the film, the Independent Distributors will get a commission for their sale.

“We want to give something back for viewers who support film makers by watching their films. And what better way would there be than offering them a chance to make income for themselves by simply promoting a film,” says the film’s director, Ms. Tii Ricks. “I also hope we can reach some new audiences this way. I believe that by distributing the film through Independent Distributors we can reach people in territories which we would not be able to reach by using the more traditional distribution ways,” Ricks says.

Rage: Midsummer’s Eve premieres March 6th, 2015 through traditional distribution channels. It will have its release in Selected Theaters in the USA, as well as on Video On Demand internationally.

Rage: Midsummer’s Eve tells a story of American and British friends, living and studying in Finland, who decide to take up an offer to travel to the Arctic Circle and celebrate the mystical, ancient pagan festival of Midsummer’s Eve. The film is directed by an American-Finnish female director, Ms. Tii Ricks. The Director of Photography for the film is Mr. Lawrence Dolkart, who has previously shot music videos for artists, such as Marilyn Manson, Stone Temple Pilots and Jet, to name a few.

One of our favorite actors and recent recipient of the Lon Chaney Award, Bill Oberst, Jr., continues his notoriety in the multi award-winning psychological horror feature Deadly Revisions.

In the film, Bill Oberst, Jr. plays Grafton Torn. Torn has recently suffered a head injury, after a fall, in his home. He experiences amnesia and a good friend offers him refuge in an old cabin. Here, Torn returns to his horror writing, with help from a hypnotist (Cindy Merrill). But his imagination manifests more and more horrifying images. What is real, in this tale of true terror?

In 2013, director Gregory Blair won the “Best Director of an Indie Horror Film” at the Entrepreneurs on the Movie Awards. In 2014, the film has won many more, including The Los Angeles Movie Award for “Best Narrative Feature” and “Best Actor” and “Best Actress” for Bill Oberst, Jr. and Cindy Merrill, respectively.

This appearance will be followed-up by a release on home entertainment platforms (DVD, Blu-ray) and through Video-on-demand (iTunes, Amazon Prime, Google Play) – allowing horror fans many opportunities to see this film for themselves, this year and into 2015.

THE LOWER ANGELS World Premiere at NYC Horror Film Festival

November 7, 2014 By Horror Palace Leave a Comment

tla_hori_posterTHE LOWER ANGELS, a Good Luck Films production, written and directed by Adam Hardman, has been chosen to be an Official Selection of the 2014 NYC Horror Film Festival.  The premiere will shown on Sunday, November 16 at 3:00PM.

A killer on the loose and a monster in the form of a man are preying nightly on young women in the streets of New York City.  Together they descend into a world of blood, lust, revenge and murder. Haily wakes in a cloud of confusion. Where is she? What happened to her? She has nothing but a fragmented nightmare. She was drugged and raped, and left in some shit hole apartment building. No one will help her, or will they? Gabriella kills men so regularly it has become boring. She rips out their throats, drinks their blood, and feasts on their memories.  Gabriella can give Haily the power to take revenge on the man who raped her, but will she condemn Haily to an eternity of darkness? Running from the sunrise, tortured by the past, with bloody mouths and hungry knives Gabriella and Haily find a truth neither wants to face.

Brutal, seductive, and intelligent, The Lower Angels is an unconventional vampire story destined for a place in the cult classic canon.

Bill Oberst, Jr. Wins Lon Chaney Award for “Outstanding Achievement”

November 6, 2014 By Horror Palace Leave a Comment

Ron-Chaney-Bill-Oberst-Jr-Award-CeremonyThe 2014 Fantastic Horror Film Festival has come to a close and the winners of this year’s celebration have been announced. Included in this year’s awards, Bill Oberst Jr. has won a Lon Chaney Award for “Outstanding Achievement in Independent Horror Films.” With over a hundred film credits, Bill Oberst Jr. continues to take the horror film world by storm, with upcoming appearances and performances in: Slay Utterly, Squeal: Blood Harvest and the upcoming At Granny’s House – Love Hurts.

Ron Chaney, the great-grandson of Lon Chaney and the grandson of Lon Chaney Jr., was on hand along with Lon Chaney’s great-great-granddaughters Jaclynn and Jennifer to present Oberst with this first-ever award.

Festival organizers kept the award a secret to surprise Oberst, who has often cited Lon Chaney as a major influence and expressed a desire to play The Man Of A Thousand Faces on stage or screen. The actor was nearly speechless as Ron Chaney called him forward at the FHFF Awards Banquet. “My inner 14 year-old horror kid is in overdrive right now,” he said. “Without the Chaney family there would be no horror genre.”

Ron Chaney, speaking for the family, thanked the FHFF crowd for helping to keep the Chaney cinematic legacy alive. “We are honored to be here tonight to present this first ever Lon Chaney Award in the spirit and in the memory of my grandfather and great-grandfather,” he said.Chaney is President & CEO of Chaney Entertainment, Inc. which manages licensing rights to the two Lons, and maintains The Official Chaney Site and store
