Midnight Corey, the leader of The Weekly Horror Movie Podcast is back again! He joins us for a zombie intensive show.

The featured movie revolves around The Dead, an apocalyptic, no comedy, zombie gore-fest. This title was released on both optical formats, DVD and BluRay on Valentines Day, February 14th.

The “Screamingly Scary Short Of The Week” is a zombie-comedy called For Love Of Zombies which many horror fans have come to love since the release of Evil Dead 2, Army Of Darkness, Shaun Of The Dead, Fido and Zombieland. This category has really exploded in the horror field over the last decade. For Love Of Zombies was written and directed by Ron DiPrimio of Little Red Wagon Films. There is a Dead-Luxe Edition for sale with tons of extra features. You can also follow the production staff on Facebook.

During the show wrap-up, ChrisiFix recommends a shocker, you won’t believe it, and Midnight Corey comes prepared with a must-own 3-disc set called Shock Festival. It can be purchased at Barnes & Noble for the low price of $14.74.

enter me in the contest on theweeklypodcast that was a great show this week as well with the guests

  3. the dead has been ordered already hosts on bluray. i like zombidies for love of zombies was funny cheesy as heck on the cgi blood but still worth the 20 minutes and its free win win to me.

  4. Great episode.

I first saw a trailer for THE DEAD something like 2 years ago. Was aching to see it for so long. Then I tracked down a website of the distribution company and asked for a screener and they said yes. So I ended up watching it about six months ago.

I was blown away. A total throwback to what I loved in the zombie flicks I watched growing up.

  5. kool image at home zombie eyes r freeky the dead must b a must it wus nice c ing midnite again:::::crisafix r sereous twilite woooo that seem nuty to me

  6. mr. billchete i am honored sir for devoting a whole zombie show to me. it’s the appreciation that all the hosts on the network show that keep me having a watchful eye for my zombie collection. i purchased both the dead and for love of zombies, the deluxe set for 2 more additions to the collection. i can not wait to see this, the dead movie. i trust you and midnight corey and know that it will be awesome. heck it’s a zombie movie you can’t go wrong. thank you so so so much again for the recognition, i have told everyone about horror palace, it is the only horror website you need.

  7. Bill & Corey you make a great team podcasting!!

Outstanding review on the Dead, I have to buy it!!

  8. Great team Bill+Chris+Corey. Fun show I thought Bill+Corey were gonna cream themselves over The Dead. Hell yeah tho you sold me, grabbing it next time into town. Mark me down on the slow zombies too far more scary than fast zombies, is there even such a thing, I think not.

  9. the hottie corey is back on grisly zone!!!! the black back makes your head pop out i like!!! good show trio of hosts!!!

  10. fun episode as always on grisly zone, excellent review & camera work, i didn’t know mc was a songwriter too, good beat, good song.

  11. You guys did another great show HOWEVER I do have to say Twilight? REALLY? I can’t believe we are disucssing that trash on a horror network!

  12. The reason why 28 Days Later had good momentum and distribution behind it was the fact that the director, Danny Boyle, had already established himself as a critically acclaimed filmmaker with SHALLOW GRAVE and TRAINSPOTTING. As good as THE DEAD may be, it was made by guys with no track record… Keep in mind, Danny Boyle is an Oscar winning filmmaker having directed SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE…

Really great show and it’s awesome to see Corey back again!!!

  13. Would you dump that dumb Chrisifix, she makes one statement then nothing, how the fug is she a critic when she dont speak. She never has nothing to say wisely then she recommends Twilight a sappy pasty love triangle with goofy vampires an mellow vamires.

On a lighter note, I will be buying The Dead. A1 Billchete an Midnight Corey.

  14. Stand out episode.
    ██████████████████
    Exciting plus Fun.

  16. This was a very good and entertaining video podcast. I enjoyed your guest and your overall comments. Keep up the good work. Also I am going to get the “Dead”. Thanks for the review.

  17. eXcellent ePiosde guys the DeaD has been OrDered cant wait to sEE it

  18. splendid episode **grisly zone with video** is absolutely the best thing out there for horror movies.

  19. Question: How do you do the mock-black background for MidnightCorey, is that done on Corey’s end, or does Bill Chete do it from his end?

When I do my guest spot I might want to do something similar, since the location of my computer/webcam would offer an odd background setting, hahahaha

  20. Thank you all for leaving your comments, it is greatly appreciated. Specific responses below:

Bennett Genualdo: Thanks, we are not going anywhere Bennett, Grisly Zone is here to stay!

Zombiefreek: You’re very welcome. I know you are a diehard zombie fan and since we don’t have a zombie specific podcast on the Network, and for your loyalty to Horror Palace, I wanted to show you my appreciation!

Lon Mckevitt: I enjoy podcasting next to Midnight Corey, he is such a great and “intelligent” guy!

TomaHawk: Thanks TomaHawak, excellent facts you brought out!

Mike Maryman: Thanks Evil Mike, The Dead is truly awesome! Pertaining to Corey: That is done on his end. I think he is in a completely blacked out basement with only one overhead light on. I am sure he will correct me if that is not accurate.

Thanks again everyone, and for those of you buying The Dead, get ready for an awesome, slow zombie horror throwback of goodness!

  21. My buddy BillChete you convinced me on “The Dead” I DID pause it and bought it on Amazon, the Blu-ray deal. Great price & great show.

Shock Festival sounds interesting Midnight Corey, for a 2 or 3 DVD deal I might be getting it on payday.

I seen Twilight Breaking Dawn ChrisiFix, it was good, is it horror…I don’t think so.

  22. the dead = bought using the link supplied
for love of zombies = a campy mess the studio needs to learn how to do good effects
grisly zone = super video tv style show

  23. 2 thumbs up entertaining show+ corey is always a pleasure to hear+see on grizzly zone. i not a zombie fan either chris but they sure sold me i has to get it+i know the hubster will like it even me not. bill always nice hearing your take.

  24. Yeah, I was smilin’ from ear to ear because there is FINALLY a new zombie movie worth watching in which: 1) the zombies aren’t fast, and 2) the “zombies” aren’t really just infected.

Thanks again for all your very kind comments. BillChete and ChrisiFix have my gratitude as well for inviting me on — twice in a row!

    Specifically . . .

    Zombiefreek: You’re the man.

Aaron B.: There’s no such thing as slow zombies either. If we were going for straight-up realism, then zombies would be out all together, and the infected would be the way to go. But to me, fast zombies and the infected are nowhere near as scary as slow zombies.

TomaHawk: Right on. Do you think the Ford brothers have a big budget chance now that they’ve proven themselves with The Dead?

Mike Maryman: I turn out all the lights, hang a black sheet behind me, then bounce a cheap worklight off the white wall beside me, so that it’s basically a soft fill.

  25. Wow! Great show! I have been waiting for “THE DEAD” to come out way back in 2009! They had soo many problems on set from heat to bandits. yes bandits. I love the fact that they took the “Classic Zombie” & made him a flesh-eater. 10 all the way for me! I have not seen a great zombie film of this type in a long time. i’m gonna say Dead sno, La Horde, & Dawn 04. another fantastic show! great job guys.

    Misfitboy

  26. Back in 2009 a part of my soul died when I saw a Twilight character on the cover of Fangoria.

  27. Great show. I really enjoyed The Dead and I really loved the short. I know some have ripped on the campy gore FX but I think that was the point. Over the top, campy fx. I may be wrong but that’s how I took it.

  28. Thank you for all the comments, they are greatly appreciated! Specific responses below:

Natalya Rivira: I am happy you bought The Dead, you cannot go wrong! An awesome zombie throwback!

Jennifer C.: Thanks for the comment and kind words. It should be 3 thumbs up with Corey! :)

Midnight Corey: Come back soon my podcast brotheren or should I say “Horror Palace Network Sex Idle!”

Misfitboy: Great comment! I am in agreement with Dead Snow and La Horde, but Dawn Of The Dead remake is blasphemous!

King Of Nipples: I hear you totally, it is unequivocally some BS going on there! Don’t forget, Black Swan on the cover the next year, coined as the greatest horror movie of the year!
