Episode 001 has finally arrived so sit back, listen, and enjoy two and a half hours of pure film geek heaven. We kick things off with a quick introduction of all three CUTTING ROOM players before Joe Mummy begins to cut the throat of the new DVD release TERROR TRAP starring Michael Madsen & Jeff Fahey. An excellent review by a genuine and thoughtful cinematic mind.
The Evil Reverend Billy Grim then guts us through his introduction of Sam Raimi’s THE EVIL DEAD as we discuss his first film and slice and dice through all of his interesting movies including SPIDER MAN & A SIMPLE PLAN.
The last part of our monstrous program is kicked off by Tomahawk as he takes a stab at introducing Peter Jackson’s initial labor of love BAD TASTE. We deliver a full review of that film and talk everything about the New Zealander including the LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy.
Check out some of Billy and Joe’s film work here (THE NIGHTMARE continues to be a horror fan favorite).

-Tomahawk is cool as host.

-Joe Mummy is outspoken.
-Background sound is eerie, it fits for the summary.

Tomhawk,
The cutting room is awesome, behind the fold brilliance. Not many horror podcasts out there like this. The extra detail brought from your povees is interesting.

Welcome to the Horror Palace from Terror Troop! Enjoying the first episode!
you dudes are nuts 3/10 for evil dead//its a classic wise up//kill all the nonhorror movie talk too
Thanks for all the kind words and the warm welcome, guys. It’s great, great fun taking part in this.
Did we forget to mention that we use the 5 star rating system? So that’s 3 out of five stars. Converted to the 10 star system, it’s 6 stars.
And yeah, disclaimer: we’re gonna talk about a broad range of movie related subjects. I can’t speak for everyone on the show, of course, but I think it’s important to discuss horror films in broader contexts. Not only does it ‘legitimize’ the genre in some way (horror is the least academy award-nominated genre!), but especially with this episode, analyzing Raimi and Jackson’s careers sheds a lot of light on their early horror work (Evil Dead and Bad Taste, respectively). In other words talking about their non-horror work helps us to better understand and appreciate their horror films. At least for me, anyway. Of course, it may not be everyone’s cup of tea.
Great job on your first cast. I am proud to be broadcasting on the same network as you
fantastic show another horror hit on the palace. my time at work flew by listening to you gentlemen. keep the shows long and detailed.
@Orville- Thank you very much. We really love films and we hope to continue to give everyone our honest perspective.
@Boss Butcher- Double B, you are too kind. Thanks for listening and we totally dig your show. Keep rockin’!
@brock- We should have told you that our rating system is of the 5 star kind. I hope that solves your dilemna…
@Joe Mummy- Blah Blah Blah
@Katie ROTS – Thank you for your warmth and kindness. We totally dig your program and we also hope you have continued success…
@bringham- This is the best comment we have had yet. To think that our entertainment helped you get through a work day means everything in the world to me.It really meant a lot to hear that. Thanks, my friend.
Thank you for the clarification on the rating system Joe. While listening I was thinking that can’t be right. The Cutting Room is the only one that uses a 5 scale system. Is there any chance of that changing? It seems confusing to me with listening to all of the podcasts on the monster feed.
This was a great debut episode. It sounded like you have been at it for years. The subtle music during the openings is phenomenal.
I like Costner Tom you are not alone.
Impressive Joemummy, nice crew of horror talents, watch out with Tomahawk has you running for your money.
Nice-new podcast-great stuff-details many movies mentioned to see..Brittani
I am a redneck and I approve this message!!
Wow. This episode blew me away. If this is what is to be expected on a normal basis, I think these guys are going to bring a whole new level of awesome to the palace!
Peter Jackson vs. Sam Raimi…what a way to kick things off.
A Simple Plan is one of my favorite movies period. I remember me and my friend were there opening night because of Raimi, and the fact that the film was great was an added bonus. I also enjoyed The Gift very much as well.
Really awesome coments from everyone… Really cool.
@Milo Fanzo- We will have a talk about the rating system before episode 2. Thank you for your kind words… and what is everyones problem with Costner? haha.
@JorgeT- Thanks, my man. Joe Mummy has been warned!!!
@Brittani Vanruiten- Check out those movies!!!
@Harlon- Glad you agree and understand comedy… thanks for listening.
@Mike Maryman- We love your endorsement and thanks for tuning in, brother. You guys have something really special too with the whole TV review thing. It is something that needs to be done. Keep working hard!
Well produced horror podcast. This will be one of my favorites for sure. The facts about the movies & directors makes it all worth while. Stoked that this came down on the Monster podcasts as I never visit the web site usually. Here’s listeneing to you Tomahawk & Evil Reverand & Joe Mummy.

The Reverend is deeply horrified that you have all taken to this den of perversion & smut with such gusto. You are truly sick. We must try harder to save your souls. Come back next week for more vicious flagellation if you can handle it. Punishment will be meted out in measure to your accolades.
Muchas gracias to fellow podcasters here on HP, we’re doing our gosh-darndest to add a good show to the roster.
The rev is preaching lol enjoyed the first show cutting room dudes. I found it fascinating the filmography\credits to raime\jackson. Heard things I never knew. You dudes should go weekly.

Arnold P. Warrington- Jack Scagnetti!!! Love it. We do care and we are glad you like it. Thanks.
I don’t live to far from the filming location of Evil Dead. Went there a few years back and all that was left was the chimney and the hole in the ground they dug for the cellar scene. It was cool to be running around the same woods as Bruce Campbell did back so many years ago. Sadly, I think that that land now has been developed into a sub-division….not 100% for sure though. I would like to go back again, and see….if the chimney is still there, I am going to take a pieces of it, LMAO!!
I just finished the entire episode. I LOVED it! Very insightful and entertaining. I would love to pick your brains on screenwriting and filmmaking. You guys rock!!! I’m ready for number two!!!!
@youngblood- Thank you for the very kind words and we hope you keep listening.
@HH- Very interesting stuff and you should re-visit the filming site!!! Feel free to contact us anytime, my friend. We love talking movies!!!
